NEXT MEETING…WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9TH, 2013…VFW CLUB

FREE BURGERS FOR PAID UP MEMBERS 6-7 PM…MEETING TO FOLLOW

 

OUR ANNUAL BANQUET IS COMING UP FAST!  EARLY BIRD TICKETS MUST BE TURNED IN BY OCT. 19 FOR A $100 VALLEY MEAT CERTIFICATE.  THE DONATION COMMITTEE IS CONTACTING AREA BUSINESSES.  SET UP NIGHT WILL BE THURSDAY, OCT. 31 AT THE EAGLES, 5 PM.  PIZZA AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SERVED.

TICKETS AND POSTERS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!

SIGHT-IN DAY IS OCT. 27TH AT THE RIFLE RANGE (NORTH VALLEY) 10 AM.  THERE WILL BE HELP AVAILABLE IF YOU NEED IT.

VENISON FOR THE FOOD PANTRY IS ON GO AGAIN THIS YEAR.  YOU DO HAVE TO CALL GOOSE 840-0179 TO OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE TO DONATE A DEER.

VC CARES WILL ALSO ACCEPT VENISON THAT IS HOME PROCESSED.  MUST BE NEATLY WRAPPED AND DATED.  CALL ROSIE LARSON 845-0688 IF YOU ARE ROTATING FREEZERS.

HIDES FOR WILDLIFE IS ON GO ALSO.  DROP OFF POINT IS VALLEY MEAT.  YOUR DONATED HIDES ARE APPRECIATED AND THERE WILL BE A DRAWING.

PLOTS GUIDES ARE AVAILABLE NOW FROM LOCAL LICENSE VENDORS.  THEY ARE FREE..

JUNIOR NATURALISTS…OCTOBER  7TH AT THE CITY AUDITORIUM (north alley door) BASEMENT.  SESSION IS AN INTRODUCTION TO ARCHERY AT 5:30 PM FOR ALL KIDS 3RD GRADE AND OLDER.  Kurt Brown 651-212-0754.

INDOOR ARCERY RANGE TENTATIVE FOR THE FIRST OF DECEMBER.  NEIL PEDERSON 840-0173.

TRAP SHOOT FUN NIGHT: MATT SORENSON WON THE ANNIE OAKLEY SHOOT.  25 SHOOTERS COMPETED  AND $300 WAS RAISED FOR OUR HUNTER ED PROGRAM.

SEPTEMBER MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:

FOX AND ISLAND LAKE ACCESSES HAVE BEEN ABANDONED.  ISLAND LAKE HAS BEEN DRAWN DOWN TO 7 FEET.  PERCH HATCH AT LAKE ASHTABULA WAS POOR BUT WINTER FISHING OUR AREA LAKES LOOKS GREAT.  LETS HOPE THE WEATHER COOPERATES FOR ACCESS.  A NEW MEASURE IS BEING INTRODUCED ON CLEAN WATER, WILDLIFE AND PARKS THAT BCWF ENDORSES. A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED TO PLAN A WORKNIGHT AT FAUST PARK AND BRIDGE BELOW DAM TO HAUL ROCK AND DO SOME MAINTENANCE.

BUCK SHOW IS SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 28TH.

OBITUARY:  BCWF LOST TWO MORE MEMBERS.  EMIL HASS AND MELBOURNE ETZELL  PASSED AWAY AND OUR SYMPATHIES WERE SENT TO THE FAMILIES.
